Arts District Loft Design

I designed this live/work loft unit in Downtown Los Angeles for a female architect who wanted a feel of classic modernism and ability to entertain while maintaining a sense of comfort for her and her dog at home.

Sustainable options were prioritized, such as cabinetry with foils made of recycled PET bottles, two green walls, and eco-friendly LED lighting throughout and reclaimed hardwood flooring. Downstairs, a lounge area provides space to relax with a book while the client is at home yet allows ample seating space for multiple guests. The area closest to the green wall is reserved for the client’s easel and stool so she can spend time painting, her favorite hobby.

The kitchen has additional island seating for casual eating. The home bar adjacent to the spacious dining area is the highlight of the lower floor, boasting antique glass mirror tiles from floor to ceiling and expansive floating shelves to display fine barware and decor.
